I have been programming computers for about 40 years, starting with a student account on Stanford University's pioneering Wylbur timesharing system. I have been a freelance computer programmer, consultant, and small-scale entrepreneur since 1975.
I provide assorted technical consulting services (instruction, programming, systems analysis and design, technical editing and writing) on a contract basis. I am particularly interested in projects that allow me to combine human- and machine-generated information.
In my spare time, I play with the cats, read, and hike. My tastes in music run to folk and classical; in reading, to fantasy, mysteries, and science fiction.
